2015 Jazzfest was such a blast, so the streets and parks of Queenstown will once again be the sights of live painting demos at Queenstown Jazzfest 2016!
Meanwhile Artbay Gallery on the shores of Lake Wakatipu will host a solo show of my brand new work.
Jazzfest kicks off on Friday 21st October 2016 and runs through to Monday.
During that time I'll be in various spots around town where live bands are playing, getting inspiration from the music and translating it into art on the canvas. Splashes of paint, portraits, finely painted designs, landscapes, birds... who knows what will happen, this is Jazz after all!
Come and see the fusion of art and music happen. I'll be posting my schedule of where and when I'll be painting on my facebook page as I find out. And make sure to check out my newest paintings, which I'm very excited about, at Artbay Gallery.
Lately I've been getting into finely detailed psychedelic patterns, Eastern mandala and Maori designs with beautiful natural elements like flowers, birds and rugged snow capped mountains. There's a simple colour palette of black, white and gold across all of the works. The pieces are another type of fusion - they fuse together cultures and concepts like ancient Maori myth, mathematical fractals, spiritual practice, natural landscapes and native New Zealand flora and fauna.
