The Story of Ayubowan
This piece "Ayubowan," which is the traditional greeting in Sri Lanka meaning "may you be blessed with a long life," is a celebration of Sofia's years living on the Island nation in her formative years in the 90's.
The subtle text blending into the gold background is a nod to iconic New Zealand painter Colin McCahon and his piece "I Am."
The elephants remind her of her time at Yala National Park where wild animals like elephants and leopards roam free in the wild.
