The story of Mirissa

Mirissa is the name of a small village on the southern coast of Sri Lanka that was profoundly devistated by the Boxing Day tsunami in 2004. Having spent a great deal of time there when Sofia lived in Sri Lanka she says "I feel a true sense of loss for their people" and wishes to dedicate this painting to the survivor's sorrow and courage through such an unimaginably difficult time.
