The Gaia hypothesis proposes that the earth's ecology is a complex interacting system of living and non-living parts that can be thought of as a single organism.

Sofia describes the original idea for this work as "a lyrical inspiration that struck me one morning. I promptly wrote an idealistic poem about civilization's current search for an eco-friendly power source, which I then turned into graffiti on the wall behind this curious red 'earth flower'."
